A New Member to the Family

Well, I am officially going to Florida this weekend to look at the '95 V-Spec listed on Evolutionimports.com

http://www.evolutionimports.com

I spoke to the represenative and it was pulled off of E-bay for me to come see it this weekend. It is in port in the US (which is half the battle) They use a service called Autoterminal (which is like a holding tank for cars that have been imported but not legalized). If I should purchase it, the car will be put in the cargo hold of a cruise ship to the Bahamas (each ship can hold about 10 cars). From there the motor will be pulled and seats taken out. The car will then be shipped back (on a cruise ship again) and reassembled in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. The car is listed much like the Nobel supercar (kit car title). the advantage of taking this car is that once purchased the shipment out, back and to my doorstep should be only 6 to 8 weeks (instead of a number of months to wait on a car to clear port). The asking price is $30,000. It is $18,000 down to start the shipment to the Bahamas and the difference once the car returns to Florida. The reason for the down payment is to cover the cost of the VEHICLE ONLY. Evolution pays the shipping to the Bahamas and the labor to pull the motor. Once the car returns, the additional costs are factored in to the final payment. I plan to walk out for about $28,000. Once titled the car is road legal and cannot be revoked. Additionally, should I decide to sell here in the US, the going price for a titled, road legal skyline is approx. $42,000. This can either be an investment or a personal skyline. I'll have to see what I decide on. I will open it up to Q&A from whoever wants to ask anything about the car or the process.

I was given the password and user name to search the AutoTerminal inventory to in fact verify that the car is in the States and it is in possesion of AutoTerminal at this time. If anyone would like to check the website for the car it is at http://www.autoterminal.com

If anyone wants to see the car on autoterminal.com PM me for the username and password.

law firm has it's advantages as I found out today. I was e-mailed a copy of the current EvolutionImports Broker's Agreement for their vehicle purchases. I was also e-mailed a photocopy of a titled R33 shipping out to Las Vegas. If anyone would like to see these documents I would be more than happy to e-mail them and any other information I have aquired on these vehicles.

I am also saving every e-mail to and from Evolution along with written notes of phone conversations, should anyone else want to import a Skyline I would be happy to turn over any information I have aquired throughout this process.
