hey JD i tried to send you a PM but got a msg saying your mailbox was full... anyways i was going through some posts and was reading that you had some fuel problem a few months ago...i was wondering if you could elaborate. mine is back at the shop (again) this time for a "faulty sending unit". i've had this friggin car for like 3 months and it's spent half that time at the damn dealership. so far they have had to replace:
window motor
timing chain
timing chain tensioner
all the belts
cam sprockets
cam sprocket solenoids
gas tank shutter valve...
wtf!? after the last time it was at the dealership (4.5 weeks) i didn't think it would be back so soon, but then the gas gauge started messing up. basically, it wouldn't read below 1/4 tank even if it was empty... never had this problem before i took it in the last time, so it seems rather strange that it would just fail out of the blue - but reading on the boards it seems to be a pretty common problem. i dunno, i'm really begining to regret buying this car..

Yeah, I've had nothing but bad luck on my ride also..thank god nothing to do with timing...but yeah, they should be replacing the whole sending unit. I'm going on my 2nd week with a loaner again...lol I'm getting depressed that I'm takin pics with a loaner...lol.. I'm actually going to contact Infinit HQ and try to deal with them to get me an extended warranty. The probs I've had with my car has been ridiculous. Make fun of Honda/Acura for being front drive...but all my cars went over 100 or 200k miles w/o need for "warranty"

Yea, in the 4 years I owned my M3 the only thing I ever had to take it in for was for a waterpump and thermostat... Anyway, I'm supposed to get it back tomorrow...we'll see as it was supposed to get done yesterday. i don't mind waiting if the sh*t actually gets done right, the first time - which is why i was pretty patient when they had the car the last time for 4.5 weeks...and now it's back for related sh*t. if you have the number to infiniti hq i would love to give them a call and relay this whole experience.

What dealership did u leave your baby at? Well, I'd take it a step further...get the dealer to provide you with a printout with all the work that the car has received. I love my car and the only things that keep me from giving it up are the coo peeps here..the honeys that end up on my hood...not wanting a new car pymnt to start from scratch again...BREMBOS..ha.ha..not everyone has em'......but dunno..........Civic SI w/ voice activated NAV...under $30 w/ Honda quality..preeeety tempting....lol

i took it to crest, which will be the last time...hell the only reason i took it to them this time was because they were supposed to fix these problems LAST time, so i thought they would make sure to be on top of it...which so far doesn't seem to be the case. i guess i'll see what happens tomorrow, if i get the damn thing back. i think i have spent more time driving their loaner sedans than i have my own car =/
