Can anyone confirm if the 2013 model has the same connector for the satellite radio?

^Could you elaborate on that? I just did the install today, but in my case:

1) Prior to installed, phone was paired to car with the "call audio" settings checked
2) Installed and paired said phone to GROM
3) Unchecked "Call Audio" under GROM unit settings on the phone (checked the "Call audio" on Car unit settings only)

At this point I still couldn't get any media sound even though it is properly connected so I used my phone to make a call to verify that the bluetooth is not going whacky. Not exactly sure what happened here but after that test call I tried to play some songs on spotify and it came out on the car speakers like a charm.

^I basically did the same thing that you described, except attempting to make a call. Maybe I should try to give that an attempt.

I am also not getting the grom display. It just looks like its playing a cd. Also when I hit the aux button it will not change over to my ipod or usb flash drive.

I did not see it display "GROM" at all either. Unfortunately I think that the iPod and USB will no longer work once you install the unit, as I too was unable to get it to switch to iPod or USB. Oddly enough my iPod does show that it is connected to an accessory.

As for the CD part, do you mean that it displays something like: "1T00 00'00" (refer to OP's pictures), if not, I'm afraid don't know what it is.

I've got some time to fool around with it and it seems that sometimes either by switching to another mode such as the radio or CD, when you switch back to Aux mode (bluetooth streaming) the music is supposed to play but you don't hear anything (just like the first time I ran it). I'm not exactly what causes this but it appears that by turning bluetooth on the phone off and on again will fix it.

edit: if you unplug/reinsert the ipod, it will show up and work as usual, but as soon as you switch to XM mode for the bluetooth stream you can no longer scroll back to the iPod menu unless you unplug the iPod

Yes that is what I am referring to about the cd part. I tried switching to fm and cd then back to aux and still got no difference in display or sound. I even shut off the car ealked away, then came bavk and tried again.

I'll have to try again next week to hook it all back up. Then try some of the suggestions in getting.

So after talking with Grom support we figured out that there was a jumper missing from my unit. Got the jumper installed, Reinstalled the unit today and everything is working perfectly.

Just as you said, if I unplug it and plug it back in then it works. I still have to play with it more to see how to streamline the transition better.

I would often play from my phone and nothing would come out of either the phone's or the car's speakers and I find that to be quite annoying so after much fiddling around I found this pattern that works.

If you are already facing the problem above I mentioned, turn off the audio system before you follow these steps, just for safe measure.

1) Make sure phone is connected and "Media audio" for GROM unit in your phone's bluetooth settings is checked.
2) Obviously make sure that your bluetooth pairing is active (I paired my phone to the car's handsfree system so I just look for the Signal strength icon on the car's display unit to make sure)
3) BEFORE starting the song on your phone, hit the AUX button on the car and put it into the XM mode (which we have taken over to use the bluetooth stream)
4) This is optional, press arrow up or down button once and you should see <SMPL MOD> come up on the display. I have found it to work just fine without this step sometimes.
5) Finally you can start playing the music on your phone and it will come out from the car's speakers. There's usually slight pop for me right before the music plays for the first time after every start up.

Hope this helps anyone that is facing the same problem.

Trauma: I've been asking GROM support and they don't have a fix for the iPod issue.

Hi all, first post here. Just picked up my 2013 last week and like others was appalled when I wasn't able to stream music into this non-nav equipped vehicle. Thanks everyone for this thread!

Can anyone confirm the model of GROM you've used for the 2013 G37? Thanks!

**Edit: For some reason I missed the link in the OP going to the exact one. I was confused because there were 4 units when you just use the compatibility drop downs on the Grom site. I see that it is the BT-3 model linked in the OP so disregard.
