Question on removing grille

So I removed my grille yesterday and followed the steps that were posted on this site. I ran into one snag and would appreciate any tips. When I removed the Air Deflector, there were still radiator hoses connected to it that prevented me from fully removing and getting clear access. How in the world to you disconnect the little "holders" keeping the hoses in place on the deflector, tips please?

grab a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze both sides where the clips are, give it a light tug and they pop right out.
