Cleaned both throttle bodies today. Took about an hour from start to finish. I couldn't get the ECU reset to work so I just disconnected the battery overnight. All I can say is WOW what a difference. No rough idle when at a stop and the overall throttle response is night and day. Thanks for the great DIY.

did both in about 40 mins, i didn't however disconnect the battery, wasn't sure if i had to or not, and the other thing that i did, that wasn't mentioned was force open the butterfly cleaned it and the carbon build up around the TB's that i wouldn't have notice unless i did flap it open. resolved my rpm drop at idle problem, even has better take offs now, much smoother!!! thanks for the help

Gonna take care of this on the weekend. Crossing fingers and grabbing savk hoping I don't have any tb relearn issues. Almost at 100k and can just about guarantee the previous owner never cleaned them. Will be reading and re-reading this diy to make sure I don't miss something.

Are you going to replace your gaskets? I bought a couple just in case...

Actually chickened out because of the TB relearn issues I've seen since I don't have the scratch to have a dealer look at it if it happens. I haven't been able to find the gasket number, otherwise I would look at that too.

Clean your Throttle Bodies

This seems like such an easy thing to do if it wasn't for half the people having issues afterwards. Does the relearn/reset have any effect on a tune? I have UpRev and don't want to mess with that. If I do the TB cleaning and throw a light, I don't want to be SoL.

Was really hoping someone had an answer to this. I want to do some maintenance on my car this weekend and this is on the list. If I have to do the reset/relearn I would like it to not mess with the $600 tune. Anyone have any insight on this?

I think only time someone would have an issue with it, is when they disconnect TB while battery is ON. When you leave it connected as you clean it, shouldn't run into any issues.
Also make sure it closes evenly when you clean the inside so there are no obvious gaps.

The service person at Infiniti told me not to touch the throttle body or I would have to bring it to them for readjustment. Is there any truth to this?
