Did you mean taillight? Yes it goes back on flush. These particular clips are very easy to break. That's kind of why I started this tread, so you know which way to pull the lights to get the clips out without breaking them.

I don't think it will matter much but if you can get the broken piece out of the inner clip you can superglue it back on. You have a pretty good chance of it staying together and the clip will pull that corner tight. It shouldn't break off again until you go to take the taillight off again.

That was to get rid of the ugly chrome button.
They are 8mm IIRC, you need either a deep wall socket or an open end wrench to get them off.

FYI, in you break the clips, they are cheap to replace. They are about $2 a piece. The upper side is also different than the bottom. This is also noticeable in color. One is brown and the other is silver. I went ahead and bought some at the dealer while I was getting something else. Now I will have them on hand when I go to do my LED's in case I break one. Part #'s are 26557-2U000 and 26557-2U001.

This is pretty much the same process as my old 2004 Maxima. I couldn't get a firm grip on the tail lights to pull them back, so I got a rubber mallet and gently tapped on the bolts/clips to help. It worked great.

I need to put in some LED backup lights soon.

Can someone help me? I can't get the tail light out. It seems that the two little rubber clips or what ever they are are keeping me from getting it out. Your guide says to pull quick and hard but I can't get a good enough grip. Any help would be good, thanks!
