New windshield streaky

I had a new windshield installed. It seems that when it is wet or I when I am cleaning it, it seems to streak or have this haze on it until it completely dries. I've tried ammonia, bon ami, etc. but nothing makes a difference. Any ideas?

Thanks

John

I clean my windows with a 50/50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water, and use a short nap microfiber towel. No streaks and it won't hurt your window tint either. Hope it helps

I've used the windex. I'll try the alcohol and water. It's not that it streaks necessarily, it's just that it looks like there is a film of moisture on the glass until it completely dries, even thought the window is crystal clear and clean. Example, when it's raining, even though the wiper goes through and wipes the water away, there is a sheen of moisture on the glass that has to evaporate. It's not a wiper issue because it does the same thing when I clean it with a MF or cotton towel. It's tough to describe. I've googled the issue and have have seen where most don't quite get the situation for the people asking the question. To be honest, had I not experienced it, I wouldn't either. I'll see if I can capture it on video.

Claybar the windshield and follow up with a paste carnauba wax. You could also use Rain-X, but that stuff is expensive.

I've done clay bar on the windshield before. Don't know why I didn't think about doing that on the new one. Will have to try that. I do like Rain-X (use it on the shower doors once a month, too). I had Rain-X on from the first wash after the new windshield was put in. Will see what the claying does.

This set/namebrand is amazing!
Unfortunately the flash is covering the glass cleaning bottle but this gives you an idea. Can't go wrong for $20. Gotta love WalMart.

Did the clay bar. No go. I no longer believe it is something that needs to be "cleaned" off. Using the clay bar, scrubbing with bon ami, cleaning with various glass cleaners, all have not changed the issue. I'm going to see if I can contact the company that installed the glass and see what they have to say.

Okay. Here's the pics.

You can see where the water seems to follow the pattern from the wipers. This is freshly washed so there is no residue from the wipers anymore.

Here is the same day, but the windshield was just dried with an MF towel. This is the residual moisture that remains until evaporated. This causes the windshield to stay obscured during rains because it never really clears.
