Electrochromic Tints
Are Electrochromic tints(smart tint?) legal to apply? If you don't know what it is, its an electric controlled film to be clear or dark. Im just wondering because it blocks like 98% when not powered, would a cop give you a ticket if the car is not on?

Not sure about legal, but we have these windows in one of our conference rooms at work. Clear until you flip a switch, then they turn white. Its pretty impressive, but the film isn't crystal clear, it looks like the windows are dirty unless activated. Like the film some air conditioners leave on glass, just hazy. little cloudy. If you look closely at the glass it looks wavy and distorted. Had no idea they made them for cars. I'd say legal to have unless activated. Kind of like some hydraulics, electric cut-out headers or off-road lights, legal until you go illegal.
Yea I thought so too but if its illegal when used its pointless LoL. I was gonna use it when parked during the summer to prevent my car becoming an oven. Hope there's a loophole somewhere in t he law...
Edit: after trying to find a quote it seems its really expansive... some said 1k+ per window... not happening lol
