😎What is the best polish or wax to use??
Invest in a random orbit buffer such as the Porter Cable, some assorted polishing/waxing pads and a good mild compound w/ the wax of your choice and you'll be well on your way, oh and don't forget the clay bar.
You can use Meguiar's, Shine Supply, Chemical Guys, PinnacleWax these all have plenty of years making the cars look amazing check them out they have super great results. I personally use Meguiars M205 to polish my car. Then I would add there Paint sealant such as Meguiar's M21. To do touch up's in between I use Shine Supply waterless wash or Chemical Guys waterless wash as well.
not that i have ever done it, but check this post:

If you're serious about this, go to youtube and check out the Junkmans videos. He is a professional detailer that shares the tricks of the trade. Allocate plenty of time, he goes into alot of detail(no pun intended), but he will answer just about any questions you might have. G-man made a good point, you will get a multitude of answers here based on personal preferences ,and opinions. I'm not saying that's bad but it could be a little confusing.
The other missing part of the equation is what you're after. Are you after shine? Are you after longer lasting protection? Are you dealing with a white or silver car or have OB or slate blue? Are you doing correction? Do you live in a snow area? What kind of time do you have to devote to car care? How often can you wash/wax? Your question is WAY too open ended. There is no "one best" product/technique/etc to cover all. There is only what is best based upon your car, your situation, your goal, and you.

All good resources with how to videos, techniques, and suggestions based upon different needs, capabilities, and situations. Find what fits your purpose, then if you have questions that are more specific, they will be much easier to answer.
This almost requires an interview in order to help tailor an appropriate solution and even then it's would (SHOULD) be a starting point. As you start doing things, you will find that things either don't work as you wanted or you need/want something else, etc. This can be as slippery a slope as modding your G, albeit no where near as expensive
All here are willing to help, but I think you should read up and watch some information to educate yourself a bit more, then you can have a better idea of where you want to take this. Or...it could be as simple as "I want to wax the car and not worry about it for a month". But I think clarification will be needed or you'll get 1000 different answers pointing you in the same amount of directions.

Based on light reading of the Detailed Image thread, I bought a Manzerna sealant and a Poor Boy's wax, both noted by DI for highlighting darker paint and they were spot on -- the sealant + that wax made the paint look wet and very nice. Then I read their Detailing Guide.... I have a black G with minor swirling, a few light scratches and some strange water spots / paint discoloration. So based on thorough research on their detailing guide including their recommendations, last night I ordered the Porter Cable buffer, Manzerna SI polish and finishing polish with the appropriate pads. Very much looking forward to polishing it down, nixing the swirls and the scratches and re-applying the sealant + wax.
So yeah I recommend Detailed Image's detailing guide. Very in-depth, but easy to reference and to a detailing noob like myself, the suggestions help put all the info together into a plan I can follow. They even have a step-by-step polishing how-to with the Porter Cable buffer that is more comprehensive than anything I've found elsewhere online.
