Need to repair a clear coat scratch...DIY or get a professional?
Someone scratched my car
.
I was pretty pissed at first, but I cleaned it up to get the dirt out of the scratch area and from what I can tell its just the clear coat and there is no paint missing. I did a little research online and it appears as though its a pretty straightforward process to go ahead and fill it in myself. My question is does it make more sense to hire a professional paint repair or detailing person to fix it? How much should I be looking to pay for a scratch about 12 inches long or so. Or would I get practically the same results if I tried to buff it out myself? I actually have one of those rotating buffer tools that I bought on sale and never really used, but considering I really want it to look good when its done I just wanted to see if its worth paying someone especially if its a cheap fix + the results will be worlds better than a DIY job.
THANKS!
