If your talking about air fresheners I always use Cherry clip ons, I get about 3 of them, two for the driver & passenger vent and I for the vent in back, if they don't have Cherry, I roll with the Coconut man, can't be beat it and they last me about 2 1/2 - 3 months. When family or friends get in the whip, they always says the ride smells good, My Step Mom got in and said car smells good and asked what the scent was and I told her. To make a long story short I gave her 2 of my packets that I had in my glove box that I always keep for my stash fellas, lol. To this day she has my Dad use the same scent.
Leather cleaner/conditioner gives a more manly (cleaner) smell than those flowery/fruity air fresheners. If you want real neutral get those fridge baking soda boxes and put it under the seats.
This was in the Enterprise loaner that I've had for a week while the wife's CR-V is in the body shop. I almost vomited when I first got in the car. I tossed the tree right away. Then again, it could of been the heavy cigarette smelled mixed with Black Ice and a second air freshener I found under the drivers seat... After I blasted the car with Febreeze Auto and 3 bowls of white vinegar sitting in the car overnight, it's somewhat tolerable..
