I use Lucas spray mist I think it's called and it filled in the swirls that meguiars had left and it helps keep the car looking cleaner longer in between washes IMO.

Meguiars 105/205 combo. Works great and they are easy to use. After that, use a high quality wax or sealant and a good wash and high quality towels to keep the finish nice and as swirl free as possible.

The Lucas is not the same as putting on a good coat of wax. The Lucas will fill in the swirls and have it looking like new money but eventually you will need to put down a real coat of wax. The Lucas is a quick detailer/ spray wax.

I use a combo of 3M Professional Products and Chemical Guys on my Red G.
- Chemical Guys Extreme Body Wash
- 3M Clay w\ Chemical Guys Clay Lube
- 3M Machine Polish (06064) – CG White
- 3M Ultrafine Polish (06068) – CG Red
- 3M Imperial Hand Glaze - Hand
- 3M Performance Finish Wax (39030) – CG Black

The results were awesome.

The first two pics are the "Before".

Sorry, should have specified. Two different compounds used as part of a multiple-step paint correction process. You can find 105 and 205 online and locally at AutoZone or PepBoys.

Since you say you are new to detailing, I recommend sticking with Meguiars "Ultimate" line vs professional products like 3m or Meguiars M line.
The Ultimate series is a little less aggressive and is more user friendly, especially if using a DA.
Meguiars Ultimate Wash
Meguiars clay
Meguiars Ultimate Compound,
Meguiars Ultimate polish
Meguiars ultimate wax

This is not the best line out there, but it's a solid product line and is aimed at the consumer level.

It's okay man @ joebrez! Thanks for that info. I'm definitely going to be going with that.. weather has been crappy down here in LA guys waiting on a clear day to tackle this project. Hopefully a good polish and wac can help bring some shine to my side skirts, for they are horrible to me.
