Detailer's Domain: Porsche 911 Turbo S Cab - Full Out

Subject: 911 Turbo S Cab
Requirements - Paint Correction, Convertible Top Clean/Protected, Interior Clean and Condition, Engine Detailed

Exterior

- Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
- Tires were spritzed down with Adam’s All Purpose Cleaner and washed down
- Wheel wells were cleaned up
- Washed with 1Z Exclusive Shampoo
- Iron Cut
- Wash down and rinsed
- Door jambs were cleaned up
- Clayed
- Dried
- Tires dressed
- Masking
- Paint Measurement
- Meg's D300 with Microfiber DA Cut Pad - Griots Orbital
- Final Polish we are testing with Uber Green Pad - Griots Orbital
- Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
- Last Step – Adam's Brilliant Glaze followed by Adam's Americana
- Wheel wells were cleaned and dressed
- Rubber and Plastics Treated
- Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
- Exhaust tips cleaned
- Windows were clayed, cleaned, and sealed

For the last step we went wayyyyyyy back to our tried and true products to bring out the depth and gloss, Adam's Brilliant Glaze followed by Adam's Americana


Popped the Americana out and applied it to the Uber Black Wax Pad

Looks great Phil. Do you recommend the Griots polisher over the FLEX? How many passes did you have to make with it?

Flex is on a different level than Griots. It's more expensive and has a higher learning curve to master. Once you get the hang of it, you can accomplish error correction faster than with lesser-powered tools.

The Griots is more powerful than the Porter Cable 7424XP, and the price was right (100-150), so that's what I got.

I've used both a PC and my buddy's FLEX. I love the FLEX, just wondered how the Griots stands up against it.
