Polish and Wax

Hey Guys, I was thinking about washing and detailing my car tomorrow and just had a few questions before I get started. Ive been doing some research online but keep finding contradicting info about straight lines or circular motion. When applying the polish and wax, do I want to use straight lines or a circular motion?

Thanks

Unless your specific polish or wax says otherwise, I would go with small circular motion.

What he said. For wax, just make sure you apply thin layers and don't glob it on.

ive heard people say not to go in a circular motion because it makes swirl marks. Thats just simply not true at all. Its just the way the sun relects off the paint that makes it appear swirls. Just do it however you want!

Well if you put too much pressure, you can put some holograms in the paint.

Use very light pressure with the pad.

It doesn't really matter how you apply the wax. My best advice would be, to work in the shade focusing on one area of the car at a time.
