Nice save!! That paint was trashed...

I saw that you used 2500 grit sand paper. Is that the only grit you used or did you start off with something a little more agressive or finish up with something a little more fine?

yes i used only 2,500 for the wetsanding but i did a few rounds, 2 or 3 in some areas. i just wanted to cut out the water stains on the hood & roof. the spoiler was very dull & is single stage paint.

for the hood & roof the first rounds were done with brand new pieces of sandpaper. the next round or two i take another few pieces of sandpaper, fold them & rub them together to deaden them just a bit. (ol body shop trick) by the time i was ready to do the spoiler i had nothing but very dead pieces of 2,500 to use, few rounds of that did the trick. the single stage paint made me a bit nervous, i didnt know it till the paper bled black. oh well, gotta get it done!

i was a prep guy in the body shop 15 years ago, learning how to mix & spray paint etc. i used to wetsand, mask & paper cars every day.

thanks.

Shouldn't you be a vendor? I mean, you gave me shiet on g35nyc.com for posting a thread about my work. Then you go and compliment Phil's work who does work in upper Jersey when he pays to be a vendor here.

Shame, your two-faced. Goodluck with your work.
