I just washed my car a few hours ago and someone decided to scratch it. now i got a scratch going from my passenger mirror down and its deep. Any scratch remover out there that can fix this. I couldn't get a better photo without my reflection.

I'm no paint expert, but I don't think that one is coming off...looks to be through the clear coat and paint. Scratch remover won't do jack.

The car doesnt really look clean....

Anyways, you can probably polish out the paint on the door. However, it's going to be hard to remove the scratch on the plastic piece on the mirror.

Wow that sucks. Regular remover doesn't quite seem like it would work if it really is deep. But yeah the mirror probably will be the most hassle.

im not that worried about the plastic piece. i just want it fixed from the body. you think the door will need to be repainted. the scratch goes all the way down. the car isnt that clean cause it was washed through the automatic car wash.

It's impossible to be able to tell for certain from just that photo, but I may be able to fix that for you. If you want me to take a look in person, PM me me and we can arrange to meet soon, but not today.

For shame!

Wonder if something in the car wash did it ?

Can you catch your fingernail on the scratch?

Doesn't look like someone keyed it. People usually do that horizontally. Weird.

Deep Scratches- a surface scratch that will `catch' your fingernail is approximately 0.04 Mil (1.0 µ) deep will usually require wet sanding

dont you love how scratches just appear out of thin air? happens to me alot too right after i detail the car. could be worse, i spent 4 hours detailing my other car and the next day some lady broadsided it in the parking lot.

if its not down to the primer get yourself a good buffer ie porter cable 7424xp with a orange pad and some medium cut polish to see if it will come out.
