Questions about wrapping a car???

I'm not sure if this is posted in the correct section but if any professional painters/detailers/wrappers please help..... I'm interested vinyl wrapping my G37. My question is after the wrap is applied if I plan to leave it on for 1yr will I see ANY damage to my OEM paint? And secondly I know if certain parts get scratched or torn they can be replaced.... But how often does it happen? For the "detailers" have you worked on wrapped cars?? How hard are they to maintain? Can a normal car hard wash place wash the car without damaging the vinyl? Thank you to all who can help me....

Not an expert. But I've seen how vinyl overlays get scratched over time from washing. I could only assume this would happen to the vinyl on yhe car a's well. It's a cool idea but I don't think it would work well on a DD

thank you... yeah it's pretty hard because everyone trying to "sell" me the product keeps telling me how safe it is, but I've yet to meet anyone who had the wrap on their car long term.... but my G's not my DD, so maybe that will help... im just scared if they remove it my paint will be damaged.. I've seen damage with clear bras being removed.

Are you going to be wrapping the entire car or just a portion of it?

If just a portion, after long term installation, the portion under the car may show signs of different coloration from the portion of the car that was not wrapped and shows signs of paint fade from being exposed to sun.

One member on here that I know had vinyl stickers on her car for about a year... She recently removed the vinyl decals and there was no sign of paint fade or discoloration... The car is alway garaged, and a simple clay bar removed all residue that was left on the paint from the vinyl decals... hope this helps.

^ yes thank you, that was very helpful, I plan to wrap the whole car frozen silver or that old burnt orange the 350z and maxima had. I just want to make sure nothing can get under the film, or damage to the paint when removing it.
