ohh's NO! I'm about 7K miles from this service.

I guess I should start saving up then.

 

I know some if not al lNissan dealerships maintain Infinitis. I'm guessing the services would be pretty much the same and hopefully cheaper. Maybe something to look into.

 

I've contacted my nearest local Nissan dealer and showed them what was being done at the Infiniti dealership for 30k service and they also quoted me +$850. Just FYI..

Are the 30K service on Nissan vehicles the same price?

I did my 30K service last week for $300 at my local dealership. Items include:

* Clean fuel injector and blah blah. The service advisor told me it was more than just dumping a bottle into it but who knows
* Clean throttle body plates. He said mine was "dirty than normal"
* Replace differential fluid
* Multi point inspection

I could've done it at some local shop but it wouldn't have been much cheaper. Plus now that I have my service record at the dealership, it will be easier for me to sell the car down the road.

I asked for an email with all the details and was quoted ~700$ originally. I declined

* Cabin filter (did that at 15K and was not dirty)
* Engine filters which I did at around 6K miles ago. They were dirty.
* Oil change which I did 2K miles ago
* Coolant flush - will wait until 60K miles
* Some other inspections.

umm...I'm completely speechless. I think it's a completely retarded mistake to even agree to pay that amount. SMH.

 

Why are people not doing this themselves? There is nothing on the list that an average auto owner with tools couldn't do.

 

Would it be better to just to get engine rebuilt at this price?

Look at the list of things they do for the service and most of them are inspections.

And you don't have to go to the dealer to get a "record"of service. Get it done at a reputable shop and have them done at the recommended interval schedule. These shops will give you receipts AKA records of service.

 

Hopefully I didn't speak too soon. I better start saving. I'm up to 9k miles now.
