I had Pete do my Black G37 Sedan one year ago. Still looks great. He is definitely a perfectionist. Fairly well known in the Cary, NC area. Paid $900 for basically the same coverage. He does a great job with window tinting too.

 

is covering the full hood usually recommended? I'd have to pay $100 extra for the full thing. I just don't know if it's worth it since I'd imagine most chips appear on the front side of the hood..

 

You aren't paying for the protection on the full hood, you are paying for the finish. Half hood leaves a noticeable seam across the center that tends to collect dirt. For a 100 dollars I would do the whole thing so it's seamless.
