Polishing scratches behind door handle
Hey guys,
Sorry if ths is a re-post but I couldn't find this question within the search function.
How do people polish out the scratches behind the door handle? I feel like I don't do anything to scratch it (like with my fingernails) but there's still quite a lot of scratches.
I tried a towel with the polish that was recommended by detailed image (that was used on the black acura) but I guess I'm not buffing it enough with just the towel.
Any advice?

The best results I've gotten are from taping off the handle part very well with painters tape and using the 4" pad on a PC to get inside the cup as much as possible. Pay very careful attention to not let the backing plate hit the handle or it will scratch it. Lock the doors and pull the handle out for more room to work. Also don't use too much pressure when going over the edge where the flat portion of the door panel transitions into the cup, you can burn the paint off of the edge if it gets too hot.

Man, that sounds painful. How much of the scratches would you say you removed? Are you getting most of it removed by doing it like you stated?

I always thought 3M was a tape company. Is there a clear type of tape that you place there to prevent scratches? I've never heard of a product that is used there.

I used Meguiar's Scratch X on there. I just lock the doors, pull on the door handle to get underneath it.
This stuff removed most of the fine surface scratches from daily use.
