Anyone use compressed air to remove water and dust?

Hi,

I had my car detailed last week (of course it snowed all day today!) and he used compressed air to blow out the water from trim and so on after he dried the car. Anyone do that here? If so, what would be the air pressure you should use?
I have a compressor.
Also, would this be good for removing dust too?
asked this question in "ask a detailer" but he never used it)

Thanks

I use the a.c. for the same purpose, works great, so you wont have dripping spots when you drive. And it works well for the interior to, blow dust out of the vents, between seats, dash, window seal, rear window deck, etc.

Compressed air even from a compressor is fine. I use it all the time on cars I detail.

I use a leaf blower. Cheap, efficient, easy. It's especially good for getting the water out of the mirror housings, grille, and crevices of your wheels. The pressure you use really doesn't matter, just strong enough to blow the water.

I use the leaf blower as well and wonder what the neighbors are thinking...prob just the same as I did when I saw a guy doing it years ago..."what a great idea!" But, I work for Staples and have stock investments in the company so please go buy the Staples brand compressed air.

Anyone try using a shopvac? I bought one 6 months ago, but I haven't used the blower feature yet. The suction rocks, so I'm hoping it blows as well.

no pun intended...?

I have one of those too that I used to use. It worked, but I bought the leaf blower because it's smaller and lighter.

Do you actually dry your vehicle with it or just blow out water in the trim?

What about for a dusting?
