Goal: ease into DIY detailing and get essential supplies to do interior cleaning, regular and winter washing, remove occasional contamination (bird poop, etc.), apply sealant, clean clear bra. Not looking to do waxing as I am not entirely comfortable with a buffer yet, so I will leave that to a professional for now.

Lots of good stuff but you have some products that overlap each other. For example, you have 2 auto shampoos, 2 degreasers, 2 glass cleaners, and 2 leather cleaners.

BTW, waxing has nothing to do with using a buffer. Buffer is for polishing your car. You apply wax by hand or applicator, depends on what type of wax you get.

 

Yep, I wanted to try a couple of different products to see what I like best. And once I get comfortable with washing the car real well I will get into polishing and waxing.

 

Dude, you need to wax your car! But I see that you bought some Opti-Seal.

i didn't see a detail spray in the list, get something like FK425 or if you live near walmart or a checker/kragen, Meguiar's UQD will do heh

 

also i don't have any firsthand experience with leatherique rejuvenator but i believe i've read on a few sites that it's mainly for very old, weathered leather, dunno what condition your seats are in but i'm gonna guess they're not that bad yet

 

I got Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe (S&W), is it similar?

 

Leatherique is for my wife's MDX, it is overdue for a detail. Kids can be messy

 

Yes, PB's S&W is a similar product to FK425.

 

PB's S@W has cleaners in it FK425 is just a QD and a good one it is.

 

^ True but it does have lubricants in it so if you want to wipe off a layer of light dust it won't be a problem. PB's S&W though has been my go to product for quite some time now.

 

Got my Poor Boy's World Leather today from detailed image and it's a winner-very nice natural finish on my graphite interior and great leather smell.

 

Got a chance to wash the car today and try some of these products. The car was not very dirty but dirty enough to require a light wash. Started by using P21S wheel cleaner and agitated the product using the supplied sponge. Then used Poorboy's World Super Slick & Suds to wash the car. I was amazed at how much less effort it takes to dry the car using the sheeting method. I used just one waffle MF towel to dry the entire car! Then I used the plush MF towel to put on Optimum (OPT) Protectant Plus for final touch-ups. At this point the car looked great.

Once the car was dry, I applied Poorboy's World Wheel Sealant. This stuff smells great and easy to put on and buff. For final touches I put on two coats of Optimum (OPT) Opti-Seal. I polished my clear bra using Plexus. Then cleaned the windows using Stoner's Invisible Glass.

My interior is still pretty clean so just minor clean up around the doors using Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer.

Overall, great products, happy with this selection, I had everything I needed to give the baby its first bath. One question though about clear bra. Should I first clean and polish it with Plexus and then apply Optimum (OPT) Opti-Seal? I was not sure so I did not put any sealant on the clear bra this time.
