newbie mistake

So I'm washing my car on a sunday like I've been for the last couple of months when I noticed there was some build up of gunk between the spoiler on the trunk and the top of the rear window. I couldn't scrub it off with my sponge I use to wash the car.... so I had this dumbfounded ingenious idea to use a scotch brite (green side of the yellow) dish washing sponge to try to scrape it off. Need I say more? So I have some small blemishes and scrub marks on there and was wondering if theres anyway I can get if off? Much thanks.

hahaha no comment but if you want a quick fix go to your local pepboys and buy some meguiars scratch remover and some clay bar. Use the clay first then the msr followed by any wax and you should be good.

For the proper fix check over at Detailed Image - Free Holiday Shipping on Premium Auto Detailing Supplies

Good luck bro

The 09s have the self healing paint but I don't' know that it will heal what you have. An abrasive polish applied by a machine is your best bet for fixing it. If you don't want to invest in a polisher, take it to a respected quality detailer in your area. Keep the Scotch Brite in the kitchen for scrubbing pots and pans. Use only microfiber to clean your paint surface.

Thanks for the warm hearted replies heh. I'll see if I can snag some pictures during my lunch and I'll definitely try those options out.

Try to leave it out in the sun for as long as you can to see if the self healing paint will clear it up.
