So this is pertaining to the actual materials that you use to detail a car.
Once you wash your car with a sheepskin mitt and or wipe it down using a microfiber cloth, and the cloth or sheepskin turns black from all the grit and dust/dirt that was on the car, do you have to throw away the mit or can you wash it in a regular washing machine?

I use a MF mitt and yes, no matter how grimy it may get, I can soak it in a degreaser solution and then machine wash it with CG microfiber detergent. You can machine wash towels too. I let them soak in degreaser or pad cleaner solution overnight before machine washing if they are super dirty.
Thank you. Upon searching I saw your post where you mentioned you do not like sheepskin mitts. I was going to buy those but since I read your post, I'm going to look for the MF mitt.

You guys need to buy better sheepskin!!
I bought some high quality sheepskin mitts and wash them every week and they are still like new. I also recently bought a Schmitt foam wash mitt and a groat sponge (can't remember brand) from Detailed Image to try out. A lot of the pros on the detailing forums use these so that is an option too...

I got mine from DI. I was always under the impression that they were not to be machine washed. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I also don't care for the way they shrink and get hard like OJ's bloody glove after air drying them after use.
Excuse me, OJ's alleged bloody glove.
