Got this info my a detailer, are these ok?

I got the following info from a detailer, want ot know if these sounds ok on the G. Specially, I am not sure about using some of these on our fragile rims. Your advise is appreciated.

Car wash product

- Optimum ONR
- Meguiar's Shampoo Plus
- Chemical guys Citus Gloss and Wash

- P21S Total Auto Wash for highly contaminated area
- P21S Wheel Gel Cleaner for rims

- Wheel Wall dress with Adams Undercarriage spray

(You can choose any type of product you want)

Wax / Sealant

- Merzenra FMJ
- Jet Seal 109
- Dura Gloss 105

- P21S Wax
- Swissvax Wax

Tools

Foam Gun w or w/o pressure washer
Swissvax Brushes for wheels and interior detail
E-Z Detail Brushes for wheels
Paint Thickness Guage
Power-Stick for inner wheel wall

Trims are cleaned by 1Z cleaner and dress with 1Z cockpit or Blackwow.
Metal parts like rims and exhaust are polish with P21S metal polish soap and protect with sealant.

Should be good to go, all high quality products that are safe to use. Should turn out great, keep us posted on the results.

Cool, I think I am gonna schedule with him then. More specifically, the cleaner product for the rim seems ok right? Cause I found the info in here that people say only regular soap...

Also, to do this new car protection, what is the going price? Some range would be sufficient. What are people paying?

Truely appreciate your help...thanks.

Is it safe to use the E-Z Detail Brush on wheels with chrome/polished lips? I'm afraid it might scratch the lip.

The P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner is safe for any type of wheel, shouldn't be any problem there. It's the best/safest pH balanced wheel cleaner on the market, which is why so many pro detailers turn to it.

Price range would be anywhere from $150 - $350. When I was offering detailing services, I believe our new car prep ran about $250.

He may be using it just to clean the inner barrels of the wheels. Your right though, if you use it on contaminated lips, it could easily scratch them.

Let us know how the detail turns out for you.

Cheers,

George

I wouldn't worry so much about the products as much as I would the process and techniques used. You could have the best products costing thousands of $$$, but unless you use the right techniques you wont get good results.

Where are you located?

Absolutely agree, but there is no telling on the techniques and the process, since I have found no recommendation from anyone. However, if the guy didn't even get the product right, then we can forget that techniques.

I locate in bayarea, CA. I have been trying to see if any of the G drivers has any recommedation but hasn't heard anything...My baby needs care quick....

Oh well, Im sure you'll be fine. Looks like you're just getting a wash and wax. Not sure why he'd need a paint gauge for that though.

Only thing I can say is 1z Cockpit Premium is not the right product for exterior trim. 1z CP protects from fading against heat only (has very mild UV inhibitors). Its used as a protectant on the interior. 1z Vinyl-Rubber Care + Protectant 'Tiefenpfleger' is a better choice for exterior trim because it protects against UV rays and is heat resistant.
