My New S2K

I completed my 10 hour detail of my newly purchased S2K a little while ago but finally got around to take a couple of pics of it. My apologies in advance that I don't have any before pictures, my battery in my camera was dead at the time.

There was moderate micro marring but nothing too severe. I used my Flex 3401 for the job. My claybar of choice is ClayMagic's fine grade. Polishes used were Menzerna IP with orange pad and Menzerna 0106FF with a white pad. LSP's used were Menzerna FMJ and Migliore's Original Blend Carnuba. This colour red definitely has more "pop" to it than my G35.

I recently installed the OEM trunk lid spoiler and have an OEM front lip on the way. Other than that, maybe just a CAI for this year. We'll see though.

Absolutely gorgeous and I love the S2000. I drove a friends, but have fitment issues with my 6'-3" frame and long legs, otherwise this would be one car that I want to own. Have a blast with that beaut, GC!!!

I should of hit you up a couple of weeks ago now that I think about it. I purchased this from Chicago and spent a few days there sightseeing before I drove it 1500 miles back home. Damn, I never even thought about shooting you a PM!!

Nice, how does it compare to the G in terms of acceleration and overall sporty feel?

This would be a great weekend/summer car for me.

In terms of acceleration versus the G, the G wins hands down. The S2K doesn't a whole lot of power down low, whereas the G has over 100 ft lbs of torque more than the S2K. Where the S2K shines is above 6k and is a real screamer in the higher RPMs. It also handles like a go cart and has the best gearbox I've driven. Overall, both the G and the S2K are fun cars to drive.....just in very different ways. The S2K is certainly a fun summer car.

How's this one:

The VQ creates more torque at idle, than any NA S2000 will ever make at peak, no matter how extreme the NA mod (short of an engine swap).

From a dig, the s2k has no chance short of a full on launch. From a roll between 30 and 100, acceleration is roughly on par with a 07-08 5AT sedan, depending on how badly the s2k driver is willing to abuse the tranny. Once over 100, the G will crawl away until the G hits its governor; s2k's are not governed and will pull all the way to redline in 6th.
