Will this buff out?

First post here, long time reader. So, wifey took the G for a spin tonight. Comes back "You're going to kill me."

Just what every G owner wants to hear, right?

Long story short, here are two shots of the car and the garage door, if I can get them to post.

I have a porter cable, in fact tomorrow was car day, hence the filthy car. I don't have the right polishing compound to get out the paint though, all I have is Menzerna 0FP00ff or whatever the # is, I'm pretty sure that won't cut it.

Since I see black paint on the garage door, I think it's not fixable -- but have no experience with it.

If it's not fixable with the right polishing compound + sealant, are the Infiniti stealerships recommended?

Some of it will come off, but if you want it to look new again it's going to need a repaint for sure.

Thanks guys. It's pretty rough feeling (and tough to stomach) - although most of it is ridges (up) from the white paint on the fender, but my nail does catch on those.

When people re-paint, do they re-apply the clear coat?

Yeah if u were to get repaint they'll have to sand down the entire bumper, primer it , paint, and reclear the entire thing. And it looks like she got your fender too . That's not going to be a cheap job, but you're lucky it's black so matching the paint won't be too bad.

Looks on the bright side, it looks like the Wifey is going to be doing some extra freaky stuff for you for the next couple of months.

I think you'll be able to get a lot of that out but not back to like new. Good luck. And don't be too hard on her, she's a woman after all. On the rare occasion that my wife will even be brave enough to drive the G, she will park in the middle of the driveway and come inside and get me to pull it into the garage to avoid things just like this.

I can tell you're not married are you? I'm really not a sexist. Well, I kind of am sometimes. But my wife will shout from the mountaintop that she cannot park or back up for squat. Like I said, she very rarely ever drives the G because she knows how I am about it, and she will not pull into the garage, a parking space that's not in the wide open away form everyone else, or back up anywhere that there's objects. To avoid situations just like the OP's.

Danica has a great car and team and is good at bitching at everyone else and getting away with it because she's a girl. She's not a bad driver, but she's not great even though I like her.

Gotta love wives/GFs driving your car. Stuff like this is inevitable.

its not going to come out. you will need a repaint and i recommend not going to the dealership body shop. find a shop that does a lot of high end repair or even custom work. ask for recommendations on local boards or even here for the best shop in the area you live. black is not as easy to match as most might think. a lot of repairs on black paint turn out having a grayish tint (can be seen under street lamps and high power flourescents like at gas stations). get a good shop to do the work right the first time and you save yourself a lot of grief.
