beware of zaino z16
hey guys! be careful when using your zaino z16 tire gloss. it'll burn your chrome lip. that's what just happened to my new rims. when i was trying to shine up my tires with that stuff and accidently got some on my lip then i try to wipe it off but wouldn't go away. i need to take some pictures to show it to zaino and let them know!
damn sorry! does it have a warning label on it? i've been using meguiar's and it's been fine... i have my stock 19's on though... at first i wiped off the rim but after a while i thought it was fine...
You're rims should have came with instructions to "only" clean the chrome lip with soapy water........ at least that's what the booklet iForged gave me said. Anyhow I'm sorry to hear about the damage, I know I would be upset.

that's what i used to clean my wheels soap and water. then i used the z 16 to shine up the tire and that's when some of that stuff got onto the lip. you really can't notice it unless you're actually looking for flaws. i'm upset but i'll get over it. thanks guys!

eh i used zaino tire shine on my wheels that had chrome lips
if you let it sit on the lip for a while, sure it'll dry and be hard to remove
just use some chrome polish or something
..burn your chrome lip.. funnay.

I typically recommend water-based tire shines. These tend to contain less harsh chemicals that won't damage your wheel or your paint. It is also a good idea to spray it on a towel before applying to the wheel to reduce excess.
After some research, you are right. They do consider it water based. Typically water based won't cause damage. My only thought is that any overspray or excess was not wiped off the tire and rim and after driving was essential "baked" on to the wheel.
