Issues with paint/Paint Protection Kits?

As a new owner, can someone tell me more specifically the issues with the car paint chipping easily? I have purchased those xpel kits which were transparent covers for car impact points to keep the paint from getting chiped. You do not notice them unless you are actually looking right at them. They usually go below the grill, the hood, the mirrors, and other impact points. The best part is when you go to sell your car or turn it in on a lease, you can simply peal it off as it is water based.

Are there any kits like this available for the G?

I was talking about is a 3M clear coating that is applied to your car. I think it ran me about $800 bucks when I had it put on my S2000.

A quick look and it seems the stuff is more expensive now. I saw a G35 kit for $1600.

I found the kits. They are a lot more expensive now. The problem is that if I pay the $1200 price for the kit I KNOW is good, it will not pay for itself on a lease because I am not going to get dinged for $1200 for chips and scratches that are part of normal driving.

If I owned the car and planned on keeping it, I would get it right away based on the comments people have made about the paint.

I have been installing ClearMask (lifetime warranty)for several years and have found it to be better than 3M ScotchGuard or Expel. The hood, fenders, mirrors, lights and bumper should only cost you around $700-800 installed. Really anymore than that and you are getting ripped off.

PM if you have any questions or if you would like me to get you a kit.
