What to do when a porter cable and compound doesn't work?

Sup guys.....I don't know what to do anymore. I am going through the worst paint stories ever.

Part 1: I got into a very expensive accident on December 4, 2007 and my car was sitting at the body shop for months. Since it was sitting on the lot through the elements, my bodshop decided to wash the car to take care of it. The problem with that was, they were using a freaking wash broom (i have pics of their wash process taken from my phone). I could not believe this crap. I went to my shop the other day to pic up my check for detailing when I saw one of the techs washing a few cars. I asked if this is how they have been washing cars, and he said yes. IT's JUST F'ING amazing how some people just don't care about cars like we do. I had to take pics for evidence. In the first pic, notice the broom laying on the floor, and the wash bucket. In the second pic, notice how the guy is washing a new G35 sedan. F'ing WOW!!!!

Part 2: After the shop finally repaired my car 4 months later, I went to go pic up the car. OMG my car looked like crap. I biatched and complained for like a week about my car and the scratches. They tried to tell me that it's a black car and it you will always see scratches. BULLSH...I said. The shop noticed their error and tried to repair my car by sending it to a detailing shop. Now get this, the f'ing detailing shop that they swear by used a wet sand buffer to remove the scratches from car. The idiot detailer was new and really f'ed up. It was raining that day so, I could not tell how horrible of a job he did until the day after. Basically he made WAY more scratches, Way more swirls, sanded my clear coat almost off and now I am stuck with this hideous G37 that looks like I had the car for 5 years already. Keep in mind I had this car for a year now and I only have 5,000 miles on it and 30,000+ of damages that were fixed.

Part 3: After months of me biatching, the body shop decides to let me find my own detailer to fix the car. I found a company called sharp detailing and they use a porter cable and very good compound if you get the all out detail package. I checked all of the supplies and equipment that the guy was going to use, plus I did some prep talk to get some of his background on detailing. He seems like a cool guy so, I watched the whole process of him detailing my car.

He completed the car with porter cable and something called "Strong" compound and sealant. He also used Zaino sealant. My car did look good until the sun came out in full force. The swirls and scratches are still there just not as bad as before. The detailer said that the previous detailing shop went to far with the wet sand buffer and my paint is ruined. Now i know nissan has a reputation for bad paint but this is bad. A freaking porter cable and commercial compound doesn't work. I don't know if I should sue the body shop or the detailing shop. I am so disgusted in my car that i am embarassed to drive on real sunny days. My car looks like some one took a brillo pad and washed my car in circles. People probably think I don't know how to wash my own car.

What can i do to repair my paint? I can hide the scratches via zaino and blackfire, but that only lasts until it rains. If black fire and zaino can hide the swirls do you think the scratches and swirls can still come out if I tried to use the porter cable for myself and spend more time? I am so lost here.

You need to find a detailer that uses a rotary buffer... But find one that knows how to use it as they can do even more damage if they aren't careful and don't know what they are doing. Like you did with the other guy, pay attention to the products he is using. With a rotary, more heat is produced than with a PC, thus more imperfections are removed.

The excitement of this being my first manual car and wanting to show off all the time is gone. Even the mod bug is gone. It's like, what's the point when your so disgusted in everything.

I will try to take pictures this evening or tomorrow morning. I really hope there is still a chance to remove the scratches + swirls + spider webbing. I don't know how much clearcoat I still have left on my car. Maybe I should just order a PC + Yellow Pad + stronger compound and do it myself.

Jesus...This is really depressing man...i feel for u....i made a couple swirls from using a napkin to the car (PC should get it out) but what happened to you is just inexcusable. just detail the **** out of it, sell by owner and get top dollar for it and maybe, just maybe u can find a G37 with 5,000 or less miles and good paint on it..either that or bite the bullet take a hit of a couple G's and sell it and then get the 09 coming out with scratch-sheild resin paint, u deserve it...

I doubt the paint is ruined as the detailer said, it seems like an excuse to me. With the black G35s I've worked with the paint is TOO soft to use a heavy compound, you'll end up with a ton of micro-marring. If you would like, I can give you a reference in your area.

A pro detailer can surely take out swirls and scratches if they are not down to the primer.

Thanks Don. I sent your referenced shop an email. Hopefully they can get back to me to get my car fixed. I just hope my bodyshop can split the bill with me since I just had my BS pay an arm-leg for my last detailer.

+1 on everything said already. A rotary can take it out for sure. Your car isn't extremely old so there should be no problem. Good luck finding a competent detailer.
