What to do when a porter cable and compound doesn't work?

holy crap. how could they do that to your new ride! the same brush they used was just sitting on asphalt!

Gotta say Im not surprised by this at all. Its very common for body shops, dealerships, and high volume detailing shops to completely ruin paint like this. They simply dont understand how to treat paint.

As Don said, compounding paint can be very tricky. Every paint varies in hardness and you HAVE to know what you're working with. Compounding very soft paint like this with a PC is also not a good idea at all. Its very hard to correct the compounding marks with a PC. It sounds like the second detailer only use a compound and didnt even bother to go over it with a finer polish. Absolutely terrible.

The main thing to be concerned about here is how much paint is left. That will dictate how much correction can be done.
