Stupid Bugs on the front bumper

Is there a good way to get bugs off the front bumper easily? It seems that a lot of the bugs I have are embedded in the bumper so they don't come off if you just spray it. It will only come off if I scrub it off which wouldn't be a good idea. It almost seems like it needs to be clay bared to get them off. Anyone have a special cleaning product that works?

After a hand wash at a local car wash I got off the remaining bug juice with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe (purchased from Detailed Image) with a microfiber cloth. It took about three applications and very gentle pressure.

lay a real wet towel on the bumper, with the car in the shade, let it sit for awhile. The water will lo0sen them up so you can take them off.

used to get tons of lovebugs on the bumper when living in FL

Water doesn't have any the lubricants so wiping bugs off with just water will cause scratches and marring.

I didnt say wipe them off with the water. The water penetrates the dried up bug carcasses on yoru bumper so you can then use whatever product you want to remove them. Once you rehydrate them, they'll come off with a normal wash

No offence, but your method is very inefficient. Who wants to place wet towels all over their bumper for an extended period of time just to loosen them up? Why not use an application specific product for such things?

just offering a solution that ive used for years living in FL with its really bad lovebug problem. This solution is also free, as you dont have to go buy another bottle of product to keep on the shelf. Usually doesnt take longer than 20min if I recall correctly, but its been awhile since ive had to deal with them.

Im not saying mine is better, but its something that works, and I was offering up some information to the OP.

No worries bro, providing different solutions is what this forum is all about. Having read my previous post, I didn't mean to come off as being negative to what you were suggesting. My apologies.

But just a word to the wise.......if you plan on removing bug smear, tar, etc, make sure you use a product that is intended for that purpose. DO NOT use a QD for removing bugs, tar, etc.
