Nam, a majority of your results come from properly prepping the paint by removing the swirls and imperfections, which you did a great job doing. Blackfire is an excellent wax dollar for dollar. I highly doubt switching to a cheaper wax is going to improve your results. From my experience, if you wanted a significant increase in depth and gloss you need to start spending $250+ on high end Swissvax or Zymol wax. I think you did an excellent job and you're results will be tough to beat.

i'm actually contemplating this thought...wondering if i can make a side hustle on detailing cars...first, black betty asked and so have some of my co-workers...i'm just not sure what to charge...

You should go for it - you can probably make some serious money on the side.
My neighbor does a wash/wax and charges $100 to $150, and that's without polishing. That's also with Meguiars, not Black Fire.

I did use the Black Fire wax last week on my G (after seeing your thread), it does give a geat shine on VR too.

i wouldn't mind doing wash/clay/wax for $100-$150...i think for that money, a wash and wax isn't enough

maybe for $250 i can add a 1-2 step polishing?

i'm not sure how much ppl would be willing to pay for this service

btw, glad u like the black fire...i love it...altho i question its durability...i had to reapply in less than 2 months...but i normally wax my car after every 2-3 washes anyway

I went ahead and bought a PC and all the supplies to do a full detail. I was hesitant because of inexperience with using a real polisher like the PC so I practiced on my 12 year old Maxima to get the hang of polishing. After getting outstanding results on my first try (due to reading all the info by George, Garnet, and a number of others), I know that I can do it myself and save the $300+ that I would have spent for a real pro to do the job. I'm also considering taking on an ocassional detail job once my businesses are sold and I have a little time. Perhaps we might get together and maybe take on a job together sometime. I'll post some before and after pics once I get time to detail Betty, hopefully this weekend.
