Little brown specks?

Hey guys, I was just washing my car and noticed there are little brown specks stuck all over my car. I tried to use my nail and it sorta comes off, but there's still a brown stain left behind. Anybody noticed something similar on their car before? Will a clay bar treatment get them off?

I had them also. If the clay bar doesn't take them off, just wax your car. When I waxed mine they all came off. A little extra elbow grease.

I've had it for almost 4 months now, but because of the horrible winters here I haven't had the chance to wash it thoroughly myself until now, and noticed all these specks... damnit!

I wonder how much would it be if I took it to a detailer to do it... sigh

Certain bugs have some sort of acid or something in them that causes this. Leave your car in the sun and they will fade all the way out. No worries.

psych. i also washed my car for the first time today. used mr. clean auto dry. that thing works amaaaazing mind you.
but yea, i was looking at my pain up close and saw quite a bit of brown spots. however if you run your figer over them, they appear smooth and below the clear coat. i didnt know what to do. i though my dealer was lazy and didnt clean the car thoroughly before applying the sealant.
.
i think its got to do with the slight cremish tone it gives our ivory pearls.

^ Well, whatever they are, I don't want them on my car (you shouldn't either)! They look like little rust stains, which makes me think they're from brake dust. I'm having a delayed panic right about... now.

I shall go get some Mr. Clean AutoDry and try it myself! Doing it old school with soapy water and sponge took me about forever today... lol

It is from dirt that sits there to long. Clay bar will take the little specks off. It is always visible on white cars.

Sometimes it's "rail dust" from shipping. Essentially it is metal from the brakes and wheels of the train floating around during shipping that settle in the paint. Literally "melts" into the paint. You may have this if it's away from the shipping skin areas(those coverings on the hood, trunk, etc removed by the dealer).

you need something that will "cut" the sealant aka get rid of it so you can clay it off and then just re seal/wax/glaze w/e you do to your car again

no thats a misconception if it did you would need to re knead your clay bar after every 1/2 of a panel you need a different soap to get rid of it

claying only removes bonded contaminants
