George - I have a Black G37 with some randoms swirls and maybe 4-5 very light scratches - nothing major. I live up here in wintry Michigan - however come spring I am excited to detail my car and I want to invest in an ultimate exterior detail kit. Would getting the following be all I need (not counting the actual car wash or tires/wheels - I use Meguiar's Gold Class with microfiber gloves).

I want to get pricing straight so I can hint to my girlfriend that I want these items for my birthday which is in April.

Porter Cable 7424 114.99
Backing Plate 19.99
Poorboys EX-P 16.99
Poorboy's Natty's Blue Paste Wax 17.99

From what I gather the backing plate is necesary to get the most out of the porter cable correct? Also I see there are many colors which range in capacity and purpose for the applicator pads. Which one(s) do you recommend I get?

Another question - do these Poorboys products actually repair/heal minor swirling or are all these detailing products just aimed at restoring shine and luster and wax so that swirls and imperfections are hidden?

Thanks in advance. I will buy from Detailed Image.com guaranteed!!!

^ You'll also need to get some pads for your PC. A white polishing pad and a black finishing pad would be good ones to start out with. Also, you will need an abbrassive polish and I can recommend the 0106FF enough.

The Poorboys Sealant and Carnuba you listed will not remove any paint imperfections that you have, that is where an abbrassive polish is needed.
