how do YOU wash

Hi guys, I've read through a lot of the washing tips and threads on the proper ways of taking care of the car. I'm having some trouble on deciding what a list of essential starter washing tools would be, such as what kind of detergent, seal.....etc. I've heard a lot of good things about zaino.

Can you just list what brand of products you have in your cleaning pack? Thanks a bunch.

I need some help on this too. I just washed my car yesterday and today when the sun hits it, the damn swirls marks jump out like crazy. I live in an area where dust accumulates a lot. Is there a some way to properly remove the dust before washing the car? I usually just rinse it hard then start washing w/ a mit but obviously I'm doing something wrong. Do I need to invest in a high powered jet hose to spray off the dust?

I've heard that those high power hose might push the dust particles to scratch the paint.....

The equipment I use:

Bucket - qty. 2

One bucket for the car soap/water. The second one filled with just water, which is used to rinse the wash mitt between the times you go into the soap/water bucket. Keeps the soap bucket from collecting too much dirt from the wash mitt. It's called the "two bucket method", for obvious reasons.

Sheepskin wash mitt - qty. 2
I buy the one from Walmart, the manufacturer is Eurow (it's in small print on the label)

Microfiber Cloth - Qty. 8-10

I dedicate a few for just the wheels, a couple for washing and another for drying. I also have another set to wash and dry the bottom/wheel well edge/mud guard areas. The rest are for drying the entire vehicle.

My process:

1.) Remove all jewelry, watch, belt buckles, etc.
2.) Start washing the wheels first.
3.) Rinse the entire car throughly, freeing up the loose dirt
4.) Wash from top to bottom on one side
5.) Rinse the soap off
6.) Wash from top to bottom the other side.
7.) Rinse the entire car
5.) Dry with microfiber cloths

edit: almost forgot, I also use the Zaino car soap..

Yeah that is helpful. My only issue is I live in a apartment and they don't allow car washing. I was planning on doing the two bucket method at one of those self serve coin-op car washes, but they all have signs saying "no bucket wash." My cars a week old and time for a wash, but I may have to just take it to a hand wash place.
