watever happened to Nissan's self curable paint?

watever happened to Nissan's self curable paint?

if they had came out with this self curable paint/clearcoat, i think our black Gs wouldnt be so hard to clean

wonder if they'll ever come thru with that

The EX35 coming this winter will feature the Scratchguard paint you are referring to.

Even with the claims, one can't help but be a bit skeptical as to how effective it is.

Test it out for yourself than. When the EX35 is released, go to your local dealership, take your house key out, and place it right by the headlight. Then proceed in dragging your key right along the entire passenger side, all the way to the taillights. Come back in about a month and see if its still there

So what's the low down with the paint. How exactly does it "heal" itself. I think its really cool that science has come so far. I always wished paint could be like your skin and just heal itself over time and rock chips and scratches just disappear. Maybe this is the first step toward that.

It will be introduced on the Infinti EX.
It will also be the first car with “self-healing” clearcoat paint, designed to fix minor scratches up to three years from the build date.
