We've been through several insurance companies in the last 5-10 years. Seems each one is good for about 3 years then all the discounts fall off and rates are poor.

In fact we've just switched to another company. Been with liberty mutual almost 3 years. Recent renewal on house and cars has a 28% increase overall. $187 increase just on the G alone (12 month policy), $241 increase on the other car.. No tickets/accidents for either cars or drivers. Called, spoke with several reps, got nowhere. Shopped around. $630 for the year for the G, $930 for the other car. Went from a $2100 renewal to about $1550. $550 in savings is no chump change! These are full coverage policies with $500 ded. on collision and lower deductibles on comp, 100/300/100K liability.

Seems insurance companies don't favor long term customers any more..... Just like other service providers (cable co's, wireless, etc.).

i agree above, honestly i tell my clients to look around every 3 years at the minimum, i was with a broker for 5 years and never shopped around and the story above is similar to mine.
