Nissan/Infiniti Brake Rotor Rebate Too Little, Too Late

I bought a brand new G35x in 2005. I took it in for servicing at 12 months, 12,000 miles and was told I had to pay $1400 for new brakes and rotors. They claimed this is normal on a "high performance" car. I did some checking. In the USA, owners filed a successful class action suit for defective brakes. Not here in Canada! No, instead, 5 years later, last Fall they offered a $270 credit to owners who had brake work done. Sorry Nissan/Infiniti Canada that's TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE!

Vote with your opinion, Is it normal to have to replace your brakes and rotors at 12 months, 18,000 kms (highway miles)?
