Exclamation Winter Tire/Rim Information

Just needed some informaiton regarding the winter tires/rim for an 09 G37s.

Currently has the stock tires and rims;

Size:
Front- 225/45R19
Rear-245/40R19

Whats the smallest rim size I can put on the car; cause I'm getting free 17" G35 rims, the bolt patten is the same but will they fit due to the larger brakes on the G37S?

Also with winter tires/rims should I go all even around the car as a local retailer suggested or do I follow the stock pattern with the bigger tires on the back and smaller on the front?

Any recommendations for good winter tires?

thanks

Blizzaks are good tires. You can pick them up through TireRack listed in the Vendor Directory.

Stallion, as others noted, 18 is the minimum rim size that may clear the brakes. Not all 18s will clear them. Make sure they are test fitted before ordering (unless ordering from Tirerack or Infiniti dealers and etc.).

I went with the 235-50-18 Hankook W300s. Where do you live by the way?

I just got a quote from Tirerack. They have the LM-25s on sale for $139 (down from $189), added the least expensive rims (the most popular also) for $129 each.

The total came out to ~$1600 usd including taxes, shipping and handling. If you plan to order from Tirerack, this is a good deal IMHO.

Good luck!

A better deal (for the Toronto/Hamilton crowd) is having the installed wheels/tires shipped to a UPS in Lewiston NY for $100 shipping + $20 to UPS Store and driving down yourself to pick them up. Should be around $1200 not including your time and gas money.

I'm in Toronto also.
I saw the deal on Tire Rack also for the LM 25/235-50-18, I think I might just go with them.

Car Addict- Where do u see the rims for $129?
It only shows me the 20" ASA GT4 Black painted finish for $225 on the site it wont let me pick 18" on the diameter selecion menu.

I like the look of the American racing Villian rims machined w/black accent. But again I can only see the 20" pricing. How do I see the 18" pricing?

Railton: U've shipped to a UPS store before? first time hearing of something like this.

You need to choose a Winter Tire & Wheel package. From the main page, select the G37 trim then click on "Winter". On the next page click on the "18" Packages: Wheels start as low as $129 each" link. On the next page and , after you select the tire and click "Select Tire", the wheels show up.

By the way, the LM-25s are 225-50-18.

The UPS store thing works well - $20 for a package over 70 lbs.. Just call the UPS store and tell them your name and phone number and they will call you when they come in. You have 1 week to pick up the parcel then they charge a $1 per day thereafter.
As it tuns out - today I picked up some used 225/50-18 Blizzack LM-25's with 1 seasons use on them for $400 and drove over to CAR KRAZE AUTO this afternoon as they had some 18" x 8" MSR 045's rims on sale 4 for $499 +tax and purchased them. They mounted the tires on the rims for a total outlay of $1004.00 tax in and with wheel nuts and hub rings. They even mounted the wheel on the car to make sure there was caliper clearance and let me inspect each wheel for defects.
Once it gets a little colder I will do the change-over myself.
I would not hessitate to do business with
CAR KRAZE AUTO.

I would not get the TPMS. If you do decide to buy them for the winter sets, you will need to visit the dealer every time you switch between the 2 sets to have the sensors reprogrammed. Just know that without the sensors, the "Low Tire Pressure" light comes on, which should not be a big issue.

Good luck!

Is this the best size tire to get for 18" wheels? 225-50-18

Right now I have 35th anniversary 350z wheels from my old car that I would love to slap on as winter wheels...

Tire Rack recommended: 225/50/18

Definitely buy your tires from the US. I just went to Costco today ... price of Blizzak LM-60 (not LM-25), out the door pricing .... 225/50/18 x 4 tires ... $70 instant rebate ...

C$1171.89 (HST included)

If you're not riding on winters already, I would drive over to the US and install the tires over there. I'm riding on Nokian WR G2 with tire size 235/50/18 ... unimpressed at how quickly they wore down. Rears are at 5/32" and fronts at 7/32" ... I might get one more full-season out of them. About 30k km on them. Was expecting more. (I did do a lot of 401 driving on them ...)

So you guys are looking for performance winter tires? if not, the blizzak ws-70 is cheap and just came out. suppose to be better than the michelin x-ice xi2.

I bought a winter package from dealership, see if they got any good deals on!
I got 4 Toyo observe Garit kx (245/40R19) with 19" 5 twin spoke rims for $2000
