Tire Change in Toronto?

Where did you get your summer tires put on? Reputable shop with fair prices. I had exams so no time to do it before. I don't have wheels on them, so it's the expensive swap (quoted $200 & $160).

When I got my winter tires put on, with no wheels on them too, it was $75 in the US. Cars aren't the only thing that's a rip off.

Thanks for the Steelcase recommendation. Got it done for $60, great price for that kind of changeover.

Glad it worked out! I know one of the owners there..so well in fact, I forgot his name.

They were doing renovations a while back..did you get to see how the place looked?

Place looked nice, they were very busy with lots of tire changes. They had 4 bays going at once, all just for tire changes. There was a lineup of cars waiting to get tires changed. I saw a Blue Onyx G37 there getting his tires changed too.

You were swapping tires on the stock rims?

Yeah, in the midst of my excitement with getting the G, I ordered winter tires from Tirerack & had it shipped to a US installer, & forgot to order rims. As I was picking up the G from the US, it hit me too late as I needed to go home that day so I said screw it, & just put the winter tires on the stock rims.

Now I'm thinking I'll only be keeping the G for 3 yrs, & I barely drive in winter, so the stock rims should wear fine. With this place charging just $60 for the swap, getting another set of rims that'll barely be used doesn't make sense financially.

Yeah..they're always like that. They sell the largest volume in the country.

You'll need to be careful about swapping just the tires on low-profile tires. Doing them too many times may wear out the sidewalls - or that was what I was told anyway.
