It must not be easy to convince potential buyers to stay up north . I actually feel bad as I'm sure most dealership would discount the car in a second if higher echelon would give the green light.

I'm gonna hold back, I am in no rush of getting rid of my current ride. I would prefer buying the car up north myself just because I'm lazy to go through the hassle of bringing it back up (not totally shutting that idea either though). Plus we will get 1% cut back on GST after January. Don't get me wrong, if Infiniti Canada would sell the car at discount right now, I would get it right away.

A little personal question if you don't mind, how are the sells in Toronto after the initial "new car rush"? In Ottawa, including both dealerships, I don't think more then 6 were sold in total. I have not seen the car on the road at all and I'm acutally paying attention to that. I saw a Pontiac G6 coupe (or was it G5?) and actually thought that was it (have never seen a g37 on the road, give me a break ) .

He did say "might", so Jinolee is probably just reporting some scare tactics head office wants them to use.

BTW, finally some life in this subdorum

Last month, it looked like we were picking up like usual business day. Number of sold unit as of Oct 31/2007 didn't look so bad consider the fact that we are facing all these situations. Compare to last year of the same month, though, we can tell it is hurting business.

P.S> Sorry that I can't give you exact number we did We are still pushing double figure after all these situation.

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but I just heard on the TV news this afternoon from a well known Journalist that Infiniti and Nissan are readjusting their price just like Dodge Chrysler already did. The way he was talking made me think that it was already done and he was telling everyone to wait for Toyota and Honda to make their move before purchasing a new car.

I'm gonna contact my local dealership to confirm. If this turn out to be true, and that the G37 is included in the price readjustment, then I may be getting one in January to take advantage of the 1% GST cut

Very tempting

I'm actually gonna try to get a bigger discount with my local dealership (I know someone there) cause Infiniti's cutback is nowhere near the price difference between US/Canada pricing.

Well if they were going to do that they wouldn't make you wait 3 months from order, they would just have you take delivery on the day of your order. Stealerships are losing money for every day a car sits on their lot, they basically buy them outright at invoice and sell them to make a bit of profit. A car just sitting on their lot is costing them everyday in upkeep and space for new inventory. For them to do that would be a stupid business move, as they would probably just tell you to take it right there and then. Odds are if you choose to buy in December and they still have one of those on the lot, they will say "hey good news, we have one in stock you can have right now". If you are really concerned, check the VIN's on the 4 matching cars, once you get delivery double check it against the list. Just make sure you tell them you want a brand new ordered car.

But, I still recommend buying it down in the states... maybe you guys are fairly rich, but doing a little bit of work is saving me over $10k; that's a fairly big chunk of most people's salary. I'd have saved even more if the loonie hadn't fall back down to about parity. Oh well, to each his own...
