So all things NOT being equal, I am irked at my local Infiniti dealership. They don't seem to be willing to budge on price and I feel like every other location in the WORLD has better prices than they do. Of course, I haven't actually told them I have other vehicles that I'm about to go buy, so maybe that's the route I need to go with them. That being said, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this sale? Good deal? At first glance, I think so...but who knows?
The car has 23.7k miles, CARFAX 1 owner / no accidents, Infiniti Certified, and the asking price is $27,994. I think I can talk them down a bit because I will have to pay for travel, etc. I will probably try to get them down to $27,000 or something like that. I would like to think I'm pretty good at negotiating, and find it weird that my local dealership is so unwilling to play ball.
My only concerns are buying out of state and losing all the dealership perks. I guess if the price was right, the perks wouldn't be too important.
This car has everything I've ever wanted in a G37. It is a G37xS and has the following options, some of which are obvious based on trim level:
Color: Blue Slate (My favorite color by far)
Interior Accent Package (Dream come true, love the wood grain)
Illuminated Kick Plates (is this for real? Might be cheesy/corny, but I love it)
Rear Spoiler (It can't get any better)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sport Package (Of course)
Premium Package (Uh huh)
Navigation Package (Me likey)
Technology Package (Falls over dead)
So this vehicle is literally fully loaded except for I think the midnight black grille, which I really don't care about. I'm not looking to do any mods in the near future, if that even matters. So all that being said, if the car is in good mechanical and aesthetic condition, do you think it's a good grab? Thanks in advance!!
My question to you would be whether you're willing to lose this car over a grand or so. What is that $ really going to do to your payment? Not much- a few bucks/month.
It sounds like it's perfect for you so go for it!
That being said, I can't seem to get my CARFAX to load, and I feel like this car may have been in an accident. I do find it interesting that the other cars on this dealer's site have a big CARFAX link at the bottom, but this one just says "1 owner CARFAX" in the description. Also, when I looked it up on another site, it shows 6 entries that relate to the big stuff, like wrecks or whatever, so I'm wondering if that's what happened. It has not been listed as total loss, stolen, or lemon though...so I guess that's good.
We'll just have to wait for them to open so I can call and get the CARFAX report from them. Thanks for the response!!!
So it looks like this car is a lease vehicle. Not sure if that's a bad thing per-se...but I know they tend to run a bit lower than standard pre-owned. Either way, I'm in the process of snagging it now. We'll see how it all works out.
That being said, I'm not sure how you think it's $4k more than I should pay. If you know where I can get a car like this for $23-24k please let me know because I will go there immediately and test drive it.
Assuming it's not going to cost me $2k in airfare.
Technology Package = $1250
Rear Deck Lid Spoiler = $725
Total = $1975
Add that to the $29,300 you paid and you get $31,275 which is $3281 more than the asking price for the sedan. I might be able to get them down a bit, but I didn't think the coupes were more than $3-4k more than the sedans with same options/year/etc. That is assuming you have the Interior Accent and Illuminated Kick Plates as well.
I am just wanting to be sure I'm using the most recent and most accurate comparisons and information. That way I have a more potent selection of ammunition at my disposal for negotiating.
Thanks man. I am definitely going to try to get them down to around $27k. Just for the sake of clarity:
Technology Package = $1,250
Rear Deck Lid Spoiler = $725
Coupe Premium = -$7,000
Total = -$5,025
His Coupe sale Price: $29,300
less Difference in value: $5,025
Equivalent Total for the Sedan you are looking at: $24,275
Seems fair.
