Keep the lease, or sell early?

Folks, I have a dilemma. I have a 2012 G37X with about 48K miles with about 9 months to go on my lease. In the middle of my lease my job situation changed and I had to take a job about 30 miles one way from my house. I will be way over my mileage by the time my lease is up, so I am trying to determine what I should do. Between me and my wife we've had 6 Infinitis so the dealer has always been great with working with us - but in this situation there is only so much they can do. Should I just keep it when the lease ends? Or try to trade it before the lease is up? I'd like to buy a used 2009 - 2011 G37 vert and get out of the leasing game for awhile, but they are hard to find. Any insight or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

How many more months can you go before you exceed your mileage? Your best bet is to wait until you are near that point, and go haggle with the dealership you leased from. They may be able to make arrangements for the last few months of your lease to be waived if you make a purchase from them.

The best thing you have going for you is that you want another Infiniti, so you should use that to your advantage to try and negotiate your way out of the leased car before you go over your miles and into a purchased vert.

Good luck!

Ryne, I'm very close. I have a 15K miles/39 month lease, so I'm close now, if not a little over. I was a little over on my last lease and that's exactly what I did - waited until I could pull ahead. But I had about 51K miles on my last one when they waived the last three months, so it was right on time. This time I'm much more behind the 8-ball. A little luck is exactly what I need - thanks!
