Coupe or sedan?! :|

Im in the process of buying a 2011 CPO G37S but Im not sure whether to buy a coupe or a sedan.

My heart says go with the coupe since its sexier, Im always alone and I love the sportier look but my brain says to go with the sedan since its more practical and about 1.5k cheaper.

Why did you guys chose the coupe over sedan or viceversa?

If you sell/support anything for a living and receive a car allowance, then the sedan is most likely your only option. Also, if you have a family, the sedan is much more practical as it pertains to using the backseat for anything other than a place to store you computer bag or dry cleaning.

But in the end, the Coupe is more intriguing, cooler and also holds its value more than the sedan, but of course at the cost of utility. Like anything in life, its a tradeoff.

socketz67 did an excellent job of bringing the reality of the situation to the decision making process; but in the end, four doors is just two, too many so the sedan never had a chance with me. The G was destined to be my commuter mobile and my wife is the only other passenger so having two extra doors wasn't a need or even want; plus the lines of the coupe are so much nicer than the sedan. However, having driven both flavors I can say that once your in the car, aside from a larger rear seat in the sedan, both cars are very similar unless your looking at the sport models

Thx for the replies guys. I think I will go with the sedan since it is the only g37s that they have. The g37s coupe the dealer has is also convertible which is too much and $4k more.

When I finish med school I'll buy a new infiniti coupe
Cant wait to join in to the G37 community.

If I had to choose between G37 sedan and coupe, I would have gone for coupe. Rear seat space in coupe is not that bad and can easily fit two normal persons, though certainly it would be little more in Sedan. If you don't have too many big friends and would be using car yourself most of time, I would lean in towards sexier looks of coupe.

That's my opinion though.

Had a g35s coupe and after putting a toddler in and out of the backseat for a year i got a g37s sedan. Issue you will have is you will not find a sedan with a manual and non all wheel drive very easy if thats what you want. The truck on the sedan is actually useable compared to the coupe. i went on vacation with My wife and daughter with a 70 pound golden retriever with lugage for a week and half and we all fit fine.

haven't tested the coupe yet. Prob is the only G37S coupe they have is also a convertible which I do not want and its the only CPO dealer in the country.

no manuals at all in the dealer and all RWD (no need to for AWD in my country). I dont mind the auto.

I wouldn't want my worst enemies confined to the backseat of my car. It is incredibly uncomfortable back there if the driver or front seat passenger don't sit with their knees in the dash. No one would be able to sit behind me outside of children perhaps, and small ones at that.

I see you have decided sedan, but if practicality is even a remote concern, you should steer clear of coupe/convertible and head for the 4 door.

I sat in the backseat of a G convertible at the dealer. It felt much worse than the coupe as the vertical part of the backseat sits at a perfect 90 degree angle (feels like you are sitting on an airplane). Adults were never intended to sit back there...maybe a small dog or a couple of 10 year olds. Yes, it's much better than say a Ford Mustang or Subaru BRZ, but sitting in the back for long periods of time may make you feel a little car sick.

I am a working guy and looking forward to buy a vert. Why is vert related to school period? I am new to US and this is my first car so maybe I don't understand this trend. I hope driving vert with top down is not a sign of immaturity. lol

PS: I don't want to buy a true sports car as I am into that kind of driving. Little bit of sports look but good looks are important for me.

Is there any thread for coupe vs convertible? I searched for it but couldn't find any.
