Buying 2013 6MT sedan

I'm currently close to pulling the trigger on a 6MT sedan.

After patiently waiting for a lightly used/CPO one, I've decided it may be worth my while to just buy new, reason being that gently used (<10k mi) blk/blk 6MT sedans seem to being going for $33-35k from dealers who don't seem to budge much on price (I've tried, maybe I'm doing something wrong), and the USAA buyers price is currently $36.6k brand new.

Presumably, the market has "gently used" 6MT sedans priced at under a 10% discount versus brand new.

Can anyone weight in on if the USAA price can be beaten? Or maybe how to buy a low mileage sedan for around $30k? Will the Q50 release play a significant part in G37 sedan prices in the near future? If so, should I wait until the Q50 is out?

FWIW this will be my first new car purchase and I plan to hold on to the car for 5+ years. Any advice is much appreciated.

Have you looked at other on going prices in your area? I'd say those price range are about the norm. I looked it up in my area for 2012-2013 g37 sedan with less than 10k miles and the prices seem to be within 33k-37k. There are about 8 of them and they are all automatics. I believe 6MT are pretty hard to find let alone finding one in your specific needs. I think it'd be hard to find one at 30k.

013 Infiniti G37 Journey$29,999
5,989 mi.
Graphite Shadow, 4 door , RWD, Sedan, 7-Speed Automatic, 3.7L V6 24V MPFI DOHC, Stock# 711928.

About the cheapest one I see near me.

My search is limited to the 6MT model (narrows the sample set considerably) and is nation-wide (cars.com, autotrader, etc), and only a few have popped up and they seem to sell relatively quickly (and, FWIW, the dealers say they sold for at or near the asking prices)

Ideally I'd find a CPO 6MT sedan blk/blk with ~10k mi for about $32k, but this might be a pipe dream.

With the current incentives, it seems like a no-brainer to buy new if used examples are selling quickly for only $3-4000 less. Unless I'm not negotiating well or the new price is exceptionally good (which I'm starting to believe)

Sounds like that one was in an accident. I saw another 13 with 800 miles on it for the same price and when I check the CarFax the car had been rear ended.

Yeah I was suspicious at the low price as well. Because the rest that's in the 5k miles are more like 38-40

Unless you absolutely need a car now. I'd really keep looking and only go for what you want. I got really lucky and it took me like a month to find exactly what I was looking for 6MT blk/blk as well except coupe.

You could try other things like carmax (prices are kind of normally higher, but they'll ship you the vehicle from other carmax at no charge).

Or search statewide and fly out somewhere and drive the vehicle home. 6MT is already super scarce as is with the sedans.

6mt sedan black on black is hat to find new that's why I ended up with the red on black 2013. In curious abou the USAA buyers price because typically the 6mt sport only comes one way. That price may a journey. I got mine for for about 40k plus Taxes etc. and that's with Nissan VPP pricing plus rebates.

^yes, I'm sure it's for the 6mt sedan. The dealer gave me the quote for $36,7xx for a brand new one on their lot.

Now to iron out a trade value or sell my current car privately...

Thanks for the insight folks

If any Infiniti/Nissan salespeople check in here, do you mind posting your advice/opinions or PM me? Thanks

Got it!

Ended up paying $36,700+ttl for a 2013 6MT sedan, black/stone, illuminated kickplates, splash guards, and rear spoiler/midnight grille (MSRP 44,355)

VERY happy overall, thanks for the help guys! I'll make another post on my buying experience, which was pretty interesting.

crazy deal. that's a $47k+ car in Canada all day long, if one were available. lots of OEM accessories on there, too.

we don't seem to get the discounts up here. most cars go closer to MSRP. supply and demand, i guess. that explains why i had to go to the US to find my 6MT sedan!

^I was using the Truecar/USAA program for pricing, a few dealerships refused to apply it to the 6mt sedan due to rarity.

The dealer I ended up going to (Holman in NJ) offered to sell the car to me without adding the cost of the accessories, which closed the deal for me! Honestly, if I had to pay close to MSRP I'd probably keep looking for a CPO

that's an amazing deal considering the accessories! Did they have to order it for you or was it on the lot?
