Tire Depth on Lease Return?
Tire Depth on Lease Return?
My 39 month lease is almost over for my 2010 G37xs.
My question is, I still have the original tires that came with the car and at the end of the lease return I will have racked up 39k miles on tires..
Current tread is 5/32 and 6/32 if I remember this correctly when I got my oil change recently.
For those of you who returned their lease vehicles. How does the lease return inspection work?
Are they really **** about the tire wear?
I heard the salesman say they discount up to 500$ of any wear and tears? is this correct?
Any info would be sincerely appreciated!

Yes they forgive $500 worth of items on the car and if it's tires, that will eat it up and some. The dealer though would forgive pretty much "anything" if you're getting into another Infiniti. So you may want to decide what your next move is before going ahead and getting new tires...
OR....go out and buy the cheapest POS new tires you can find and throw them on if you're not going with Infiniti again. Long as the tires are under $500, I would think you're gonna make out.
Costco, BJs, pep boys usually have cheap tire deals.

Or do they do it twice? once before and when you return it?
you have to do it before. the dealer wont accept the car unless it has been inspected. i had mine done the same day - it took about 15 min for the inspection, and i just drove it down the block to the dealer.
depends on the condition your car is in. for my inspection, the guy measured paint depth all around, looked in the trunk (condition of spare, tools) and under the hood, checked under some of the rubber trim that the car hasnt been painted, took pictures of scratches, and that was it. it took him longer to write the report than it did for him to inspect it
