2012 used G37x
I am looking at a 2012 G37x with no bells and whistles with under 16,000 miles. they are asking 31,995, They are holding at close to that price. I am trying to get under $31000. We are early in the game, any advice? What would be a fair price for the car? Manager said they are selling it for under the price they got it for, so I said show me. He took me to the computer and brought up a screen that had an "inv" price which was higher than the asking price but I know it is BS. I asked why would they sell it for less and he said it has been on the lot for too long. Oh that's good business.

Run a carfax report on it. Might indicate just how long it's been on the lot for. If $31K is your final price, stay with it. X models are a dime a dozen and readily available in the midwest. You don't specify, but coupes do cost more than sedans.
OP if you are interested I am selling my 2011 G37XS (sport, premium & nav) for $30,999 w/ only 19k miles. Better deal than what you are looking at.

CPO on these cars isn't worth it (especially for such a low mileage car) because the original warranty is 6 year /70k on the powertrain anyway.
