galves?

how many of you used galves to price a used g37 and how accurate were they to the value of your trade in if you had one and the asking price that the dealership wanted for the car that you were looking at? from what i've seen the values on galves were much lower than kbb and nada which might not be a bad thing if the dealership is consistent with which service they use to assign car values.

Dealers sell their cars and list them for significantly over galves ... they will always resort to galves for trade ins as its normally their lowest possible value they can quote you as from another source than them. Even seen dealers offer under galves for a used car. But when you shop for a used car never heard a dealer take it as a valid argument.

You can buy a galves account to access online for a short period if your interested in taking a look at what they numbers say.

yeah, it seems as though the three dealerships that i've been to were pretty close to the galves trade in price for my car but they want to use the nada value when pricing a car that they would like to sell. the g 37 that i've been looking at is listed at almost $35,000 for a '11 model even though galves has it listed at $28,000 if it is market ready condition. this seems outrageous when an 2012 can be had for a little over $37,000 with the incentives that are listed.

having said that, what would/ should be a reasonable price for an '11 with the premium package, nav and wood accents with a little less than 10,000 miles? would $500 over the galves price be ok given that $500 over invoice would be in the ballpark with most new cars?

Personally I don't know but the longer the car has been on the lot the more willing they seem to be to come close to Galves (normally though if its been on a lot long may not be one your interested in), but still most will probably not budge much.

Goodluck though
