First time at dealership, did i get F'ed?

whats goin on everyone?

Names Dj, i havnt been on these forums in like 5 months, because i couldnt decide what i wanted (evo/350/370/charger/sportbike) lol anyways i went to the dealership for the first time today and test drove an g35coupe and g37s, i Loved! the g37, wonder why i waited so long to drive one. Anyways the salesmen took me inside to talk numbers, and i already decided in my head that i was not going to buy a car today. He appraised my car ( 04 srt-4/85k/good condition) came back with 2,800, i was like wtf carmax was going to give me 4k. Then the guy tried to get me to sign this thing called a "preferred Customer Plan" Basicly saying that if i liked the price i would buy it today. I said i wasnt going to sign it and he looked at me like i was stupid. Anyways this is the numbers him and his "boss" came up with.

Certified

2008 infinit g37s 39050 miles

27,665
-2,800 Trade (assuming i was gonna trade)
________
24,865 + Doc fee (299) + Payoff

+ 4000 Down = 60 month - 460-470 a month

Something about that just didnt feel right, was i right to leave?

I'd have made a counteroffer, but certainly wouldn't have taken his offer. That financing seems high. Financing 24000 for 5 years and paying 470 a month?

You're always right to leave. It never hurts you to walk out, but it always means the dealership didn't make a sale that day that they could have. Hurts them for you to walk, not you.

If it doesn't feel right, something is wrong and you should leave.

Just remember, the worst mistake you can make is falling in love with a car. These cars are common, be patient and you'll find the right one.

Wait a minute, didn't I just post on another of your threads? Something about a dozen cars in the last month?

That price was def high and the financing. Any dealership that wants you to sign something off the bat. Red flag. Buy your car elsewhere. Also as a fresh up never take the first pencil

Lol...they are proud of their cars. I am looking on e-bay for one, but I will probably end up waiting till spring. What is the exact car you are looking for?
